Over the course of the afternoon, participants will help to set and print a new poem by our writer in residence, Nabeela Ahmed.

Participants will learn a about how traditional letterpress printing works and get to have a go at ‘compositing’ — the art of setting letters for print — and letterpress printmaking on the Guinness World Record-holding People Powered Press.

We’ll make four prints over the course of the afternoon, each taking about 45 minutes to set and print — that will come together to make a 4m high mural for public display on Saltaire Road.

The (rough!) timings are as follows — feel free to join us to make one, or more, of the prints

Print 1: 1pm

Print 2: 2pm

Print 3: 2:45pm

Print 4: 3:30pm

We’ll also have the kettle on at regular intervals!

This event is family-friendly and fully accessible for anyone in a wheelchair.
