Workshop 1) 9:30am—1pm

Workshop 2) 2pm—5:30pm

In association with The Peace Museum & Bradford Literature Festival

Open to those of any — or absolutely no — experience in printmaking. Come and make your own letterpress print to take away.

Work with our experience printmaker to use traditional and new 'letterpress type’ (block letters that can be printed from) to make a Print for Peace.

This workshop invites you to consider what peace means to you, inspired by protest posters, placards, and printed ephemera. From quiet contemplations of a peaceful intent; to quotes, lyrics or sayings that hold meaning to you; to bold statements of protest or resistance— participants are invited to respond to the theme of peace and make something of meaning to them. In the process you’ll learn the basics of letterpress and relief printmaking and create a print on our special record-breaking press — the largest of its kind in the world.

You’ll create a print to take home, in colours of your choosing, as well as being invited to add a copy of your print to a collection of peace posters created on the People Powered Press in the run up to Pressing Matters — an upcoming exhibition of Print and Peace at The Peace Museum at the end of 2026.

Tickets will be available via Bradford Literature Festival’s website from early June — please check back soon.
