An evening of live poetry performance with Poet in Residence Antony Dunn and friends.

This event reunites three of the poets who worked on the People Powered Press' first major project in the Bradford district.

Nabeela Ahmed is a writer, multilingual poet, spoken word artist and storyteller. She writes and shares her work in English, Urdu and Pahari. She facilitates creative writing and poetry workshops and hosts open mics. She has had poems published in England, America, Pakistan and India. She self published her book, Despite our Differences via Amazon in 2018 and is currently working on her novel.

Nick Toczek is a British writer, performer and self-confessed motormouth!

Born in Yorkshire in 1950, he’s been writing since he was a child, began getting his poetry published in his mid-teens, did his first public readings when he was nineteen, and had his first collection of poetry published when he was twenty-one.

Since then, he’s done more than fifty thousand performances and presentations, has worked in more than forty countries, has published more than forty books, and has never had a ‘proper job’.

In November 2023, Nick was awarded with an Outstanding Contribution to Something or Other Award at the University of Bradford.

Antony Dunn is Poet in Residence of the People Powered Press. He has published four collections of poems; Pilots and Navigators, Flying Fish, Bugs and, most recently, Take This One to Bed (Valley Press).

Winner of the Newdigate Prize and an Eric Gregory Award, he is a regular tutor for The Poetry School and the Arvon Foundation. He has worked on a number of translation projects with poets from Holland, Hungary, China and Israel, and has been Poet in Residence at the University of York and Ilkley Literature Festival.

He was Artistic Director of Bridlington Poetry Festival from 2012 until 2018.
